Good news folks! In the wake of today’s release of Norwich Xtreme (see here) I contacted Gary Summons of UK2000. He confirmed that Matt Cox, who is doing all the conversion work for X-Plane, intends to carry on. He also stated that the next airport “should be Stansted”. No more information available yet though. Also bear in mind that the above screenshot was not taken in X-Plane. Sooner or later the first screenshots of the converted scenery will pop up though. Once that happens I will let you know!

Personally I am excited to see that the UK finally gets all the attention it deserves. There are some great sceneries in UK2000’s portfolio and I can’t wait to see them all in X-Plane. Please support Gary and Matt and buy these great sceneries if you haven’t already!

As most of you know, MisterX6 (well known for his wonderful freeware sceneries he gifted us in the past with) started his own payware brand Short Final Design some time ago. Following his first payware release of KSLC Salt Lake City he now officially announced that KABQ Albuquerque is going to be his next release.

Judging from the screenshots (see here) work seems to be quite advanced already. As a matter of fact KABQ currently seems to be in an early Beta stage. See here for a video of Beta 1 recorded by JonFly (bear in mind though that not all areas of the future final product are yet implemented).

Dear readers! Today marks the end of the very first month of FlightDeckX.com on the web. Let me tell you, when I started this site I had some doubts if this could be a success. Now one month later I am excited to see that already 3.562 readers visited this site. To all of you: Thank you very very much!!! Thanks to you I am encouraged to keep going and deliver all those daily X-Plane news we all love so much.

Great things are coming up in the future. FlightDeckX.com is intended to become a true community project. I am not announcing what ideas I have for this site just yet. As a little sneak peak though, each and every one of you will have the opportunity to contribute to this site and our beloved community! Stay tuned for more information, I will soon disclose all the plans for the future.

If you want to read how everything started, take a look at my very first post here.

Again, thanks to all of you!

– Ollie

I never thought this truly magnificent scenery of WADD Bali would ever see the light of day in X-Plane and yet, here we are. Aerosoft posted a final set of screenshots on their forums here with an imminent release expected next week. I will try to do an in-depth review once the scenery is available and I have access to my X-Plane PC again. In the meantime, head over to Aerosoft for the full set of screenshots!

Join our friend Osamah aka Q8Pilot for a full review of the Carenado B1900D for X-Plane 11 here. In this video he takes a deep look at the 3D modeling, texture work, rain effect, performance, and puts all that to test with a short flight and landing at SBSV in Brazil. Have fun and make sure to subscribe to his channel!

Are you tired of trees appearing where they have no business to be? simHeaven has a solution with their latest OSM derived Forest package. The announcement reads as follows:

“This scenery replaces the forests of XP11 with forests, orchards, vineyards, tree lines and trees derived from OSM data. For the objects, original forests and trees of XP11 are used, so there is no additional library necessary. Best for use of photo sceneries, but even with standard scenery this could be a win, try out and see. Original forests of XP11 are excluded for all covered tiles, but autogen trees in cities still remain visible. No additional library needed, should be compatible with XP10 too.”

simHeaven’s Forest package is directly available from simHeaven here.

The northern hemisphere is sweating (well, most of Europe certainly is). Perfect timing for summertime destinations in the upper part of our blue planet. Community member T_Fleck heard the call and announced his work on KMOB Mobile Regional. The scenery will be released as freeware and should be ready within the next few weeks. See here for more information.
