Developers: Orbx is hiring!

I know some of you aren’t the biggest Orbx fans. Honestly though, I don’t care. I love Orbx and their products and I am looking forward to all those beautiful airfields as announced earlier here. Currently Orbx is hiring and looking for some experienced X-Plane developers to help them convert their scenery to our platform. See what they are looking for (see the original post by Orbx’s Ed Correia here):

“Are you looking for an opportunity to join Orbx as a developer? We are wanting to expand our team of  talented developers as well as find specialists to port many of our published airports for XPlane 11. There will also be opportunities to team up with established developers on current projects. This will be paid contract work.

Developer/assistant developers

  • proven work published either payware or freeware
  • advanced 3D modelling skills and experience with FSX/P3D SDK tools

XP specific

  • proven experience with the use of porting tools from FSX/P3D to XP

Please send covering details, relevant skills and experience to jobs@orbxsystems.com Links to published works/reviews will be advantageous.”

Whether you like it or not, things are about to get real with Orbx! If you are a developer looking for a new assignment, this might be your chance! Good luck!

    Hey Ollie,

I have a wish: could you please write your posts in a more objective way? For example you could leave out “I know some of you aren’t the biggest Orbx fans. Honestly though, I don’t care. I love Orbx and their products” and “Whether you like it or not”.Personal feelings can be discussed in the comments section. In my opinion, a news post should only inform people (i.e. facts and stuff) and not include subjective statements.Apart from that…keep up the good work! :)Regards,The3hadowReplyCancel

Nice try buddy, but no! This ain’t a news site, it’s my personal news blog! I write how I want. Don’t like it? Make your own site! That said, thanks for the compliments! I do my best!ReplyCancel

Woah…sorry if I offended you…it was just a suggestion. I didn’t realize that this is actually a “news blog”. I thought this should be a normal news site, especially because once there were also other authors. Maybe you should change the title from “X-Plane News” to “X-Plane News Blog” then.ReplyCancel

Ah okay. :DBut it would make sense to add a “Blog” to the title, so that everyone knows that this is a more personal news site (i.e. posts contain subjective statements)…just to avoid confusions. ^^

Hard to not come to Ollie’s defense as I enjoy the personality! Forget the banality in the posts. I understand what The3hadow is getting at though but this is Flight Simulation, not politics. I’ve said it before… I enjoy an opinion, as it brings on a discussion.ReplyCancel

If ORBX can focus more on Airports they will do well with XP. I think they saw the light and realized how much potential this sim has. 2017 Has been a great year for flight sims. I think 2018 will be even better for XP with addition of Vulcan and other developers like ORBX bringing their products to xplane. ReplyCancel
