FlightFactor A320: new video shows pushback interaction

A beta tester of the anticipated FlightFactor A320 posted a new video in the announcement thread at the x-plane.org forums. The video gives a sneak peek at a new fully automated pushback plugin called BetterPushback that will be shipped together with the A320. The plug-in will allow custom pushback routes that can be created easily with some clicks inside X-Plane. The system will also memorize previously used pushback routes. That way, whenever you want to push from a gate you were at before, you will automatically be offered to reuse your previous pushback route.

I really like what I am seeing so far. See for yourself here.

VSKYLABS updates its line-up

VSKYLABS, a developer specialized in light and microlight aircraft, apparently published updates for 4 of their add-ons. Affected are the following products:

  • VSKYLABS Hang Glider Project
  • VSKYLABS Aeropro EuroFOX Project
  • VSKYLABS Air Phoenix U-15 LSA Project
  • VSKYLABS Tecnam P2006T

Now I did not find any release notes but those products are listed first on the x-plane.org store homepage. Usually that means an update has been published. Head over to the .org store and check your customer accounts.

LES DC-3 development coming along well

Usually I don’t really fancy classic aircraft. However looking at the latest shots of Leading Edge’s DC-3 I might change my mind. After all these images look stunning. I reached out to the developers to find out more. They stated that version 2 of their DC-3 will be a complete remake, featuring a custom mesh, new textures (obviously PBR), new code, new manipulators and new lighting. FMOD sounds will be added further down the line. Due to these massive changes compared to the their old DC-3, which was originally made for X-Plane 9, version 2 of the aircraft will be a paid upgrade. Find out more on Leading Edge’s Facebook page here.

Anyone heard of the VPC MongoosT-50 flight stick?

I stumbled across this flight stick by Belorussian company VirPil Controls (VPC). VPC – as they claim – are “a team comprised of designers, engineers, software developers and virtual pilots with the goal of bringing in a new class of high-end, high precision flight controllers to the consumer market”. Their entry market product is the MongoosT-50, a flight controller based on the modern T-50 Russian fighter jet. According to their website VPC also intends to offer throttles and pedals at some point in the future.

I can’t say it isn’t beautifully looking. Does anyone own that piece of hardware? What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments.

Carenado B200 King Air available for X-Plane 11

Yesterday Carenado released their B200 King Air for X-Plane 11. While it’s good that they are continuously updating their fleet it is quite disappointing that there does not seem to be an upgrade offer for existing owners. At least that’s my opinion. What do you think? Leave a comment!

For the full feature list have a look at the product site here.

FlyJSim previews PBR shot of their 732

GloballArt releases SBSV Salvador / Bahia

Well known developer Richard Nunes released SBSV Salvador / Bahia under his label GloballArt. The airport with the melodic name “Aeroporto Internacional de Salvador Deputado Luís Eduardo Magalhães” (I love that language) is located in central eastern Brazil, only a stone’s throw away from the beach. The add-on features ground traffic, AutoGate compatibility, a custom mesh and a beautifully looking custom approach lights system, only to name a few.

I am a big fan of Richard’s sceneries and I have never been disappointed. I am sure you won’t either. Grab your copy here.
