That’s right folks. Flight Sim Jewels posted the final set of screenshots before the release of Hawaii Photoreal for X-Plane! See the full announcement:
“These are the final shots from development of Hawaii Photoreal for X-Plane 11 before release. This release will include the following:
- ZL17 (1.1 metre per pixel) imagery for The Big Island, Kahoolawe, Molokini, Lanai, Maui, Molokai, Oahu, Niihau, Lehua, and Kaula.
- ZL18 (0.5 metre per pixel) imagery for select airports on The Big Island, Maui, Lanai, Molokai, and Oahu.
- ZL19 (0.3 metre per pixel) imagery for PHNL Daniel K. Inouye/Honolulu International Airport
- Compatibility with autogen overlays from Laminar Research as well as AlPilotX to allow for roads on scenery with certain restrictions
Future updates will include:
Individually available airports adapted from George’s Hawaiian Airports, with authorization and heavy modification for optimization in the X-Plane 11 environment. World2XP generated overlays customized and optimized for X-Plane 11, including certain custom objects in areas of interest such as Mauna Kea Observatory, Haleakala Observatory, Waikiki Waterfront, etc.
Improved coastal masking:
This first release of all the islands is an initial release. I will include all imagery and will be fully functional. It will not include any overlays such as airports, buildings, or forests. Airports will follow as they become available. We have decided to do this to make products that are ready open to the public rather than holding things back for the benefit of your enjoyment of the scenery. This also allows for a higher level of customization by the user in the future, with the added ability to selectively include or remove airports in the case where they may prefer their own custom scenery.
Compatibility with this package is limited. RealScenery Enhanced Oahu will conflict catastrophically with this package and at this time there is no way to make our other islands compatible with RealScenery’s product as their architecture is too similar and covers overlapping areas. We apologize for this inconvenience and we hope that users will still chose to enjoy the other Hawaiian Islands.
Downloads of this release will not function as an island-to-island download. Downloading the new Hawaii Photoreal Scenery for X-Plane will require tile downloads, much like HD Mesh V3 from AlPilotX. Specific instruction for installation will be included and we are working to make installation as easy and straightforward as possible for the user to maximize your time enjoying the scenery.
This release will contain known and unknown bugs. Known bugs, along with a timeframe for correction, will be listed on the download site. They are few, but ever present. None take away from the experience of the scenery and almost all are visual bugs – ones that will be corrected as it becomes possible. As updates will likely be frequent for Hawaii Photoreal, we highly recommend following our facebook with notifications to keep your product up to date. Thank you for your patience and we are excited to deliver a quality product for the enjoyment of everyone in the flight simulator community!”
As suggested by the team, follow their work on Facebook here. I’ll let you know once the scenery becomes available!
